The Dream Engine is a non-profit project that started in Chesapeake, Virginia in 2003 with the goal of providing "Life Care" to individuals, families and communities. We created the Dream Engine in part to provide a central "engine" that can meet a variety of needs, so people don't have to pursue multiple organizations.

Perhaps more importantly, we made the commitment that every dollar we raise goes directly to making dreams come true. You won't find "administrative costs" getting in the way of fueling the dream engine.

Our Life Care approach focuses on meeting needs in a variety of areas, which we've loosely grouped in seven categories:

We know all too well that finding assistance, or even providing assistance, for these crucial needs is a struggle, with no one, central place to go to for help. Government agencies, charities, non-profits and social organizations all do their part, but there is often little connection between them. This leads to a maze of confusion for those who most need the help, and have the least resources to find it.

Now picture the Dream Engine, a central resource that fills the outstanding needs. For some, it's simply a place to turn for help with financial matters; from balancing a checking account to establishing a budget. In other places fueling dreams may involve a free or low-cost medical treatment program, or even building community centers, and low-cost residential housing.

Every Dream Engine project is unique, just like every person you meet has different dreams and goals. One of the beautiful things about the Dream Engine is that no dream is too small, or too large.

Although each program we develop and facility we build is unique, reflecting the local community, environment and culture, all are created with the same function -- to provide resources and services that help people live to their fullest potential. We are a true family service center that assists individuals, families, and communities to fulfill their dreams.  Whatever the dream, we'll help bring it to reality.

Best of all, Dream Engine projects are about giving as much as receiving. We don't just bring together people who can benefit from our vision of community services. The very nature of fulfilling dreams means the programs and buildings we create become a place where others can give back to their communities, and share their own knowledge and expertise along with providing financial support.

We challenge medium to large nonprofit organizations (such as churches and  associations) to partner with us by donating $1,000.00 per month. This donation can be offset  by collecting $1.00 per month from members of your church or association.
